A great feature because of the extra pressure on your foot due to the incline of the heel. Would not recommend for wides; it's spot on for medium width, but not a lot of wiggle room. No need to size up. Buckles are functional but mostly decorative; not really placed properly to adjust for a high instep. There is elastic goring which is more effective than the buckles. Leather is stiff and sturdy. One of the sleekest ankle boot silhouettes available this season. Rivaled only by Clark's Water Row and Seychelles Bismuth for "the look" with a flattering tapered heel, rather than a clunky, blocky heel. It is not possible to over-emphasize how very comfortable these shoes are. You can wear all day, walk, sit, stand, and not once be thinking about your feet because they are not hurting!Note that the brown represented here might look sort of orange or appear to be an intense autumn gold... I wore these w/ dress pants and thin trouser socks. These look very nice and seem well made. I have other Clark shoes and wear the heck out of them, so I'm familiar with the brand. These do NOT feel like your wearing heels at all....more like boots maybe. I love that about them.They are pretty snug for me and I ordered the same size I would for a pair of tennis shoes (8.5) thinking I might wear them w/ thicker tights at times. Normally on dress shoes I can wear an 8 or even a 7.5....but with these I would order your regular size. I thought maybe I should have gotten a half size larger, but the back of the shoes does seem to be a tiny bit loose, so I'm sure that it would be worse with a bigger size. My daughter wears a 7.5 and even she said they seemed snug around the top of your foot. I ended up loosening the top strap (near the toe) and that helped a tiny bit... Alas, I adored the finish and quality so on they went. I think I literally blinked in amazement. After about 15 minutes it felt like my feet were being held snuggly in a form-fitting ultra-comfortable way. I love these shoes for casual wear and they can be dressed up a bit too. Highly recommend! These are my second pair of Indigos and both are excellent! They do run true to size, if even it may not look like it at first! |
